VIII. How to Track Down Replacement Parts
There are two approaches to finding replacement parts for diodes in your broken TV, VCR, RF transmitter, crystal radio, whatever ...
- Get a data book/cross-reference from a maker of replacement parts.
- Get a copy of the D.A.T.A. Book for diodes, published annually. This publication lists all currently produced diodes, and their specs and sources. D.A.T.A. also publishes an obsolete-parts cross-reference. No, they aren't free! They are approximately US$200. (Your local university library might have one.)
